Northern lights

One of my main issues about leaving canada soon was the thought about not getting to see auroras before departure... So you can probably imagine how happy and lucky I felt this night (around 3:30am walking home from work) when I suddenly realized that those "shadows" on the sky couldn't be clouds or the rising sun, those were Auroras! I have to admit though that they weren't very intense, only a frame of a very light green color, I wasn't able to capture that moment with my phone, but fortunately I live on the top of my building and I also had a tripod. So as soon as I arrived at my apartment I took my camera and I went out on the balcony and I tried to take pictures with the longes exposure possible and it actually worked! I am very glad that I finally got to see them, I hope that tonight they will appear again as they usually do (twice in a row), and today was a very sunny day as well so clouds shouldn't be a problem.

Museums Day in Banff

Finally I had time to go to Banff again and see some of my german friends there, it has been a long time that I wasn't able to go, just because it already costs me money just to get there and come back, that makes the trip a little bit expensive. But I felt that it was time to go again, one of the reasons was some kind of reunion we wanted to do because of our 8 month in Canada. Another reason was that Tamara and me had some vouchers for activities in Banff we wanted to use. First we decided to go to Cave and Basin to see the very bad smelling hot springs which made Banff so famous. After that we continued to the Buffalo Nations Museum with an exhibition about the First Nations of Canada, and then we visited the Whyte Museum. Then we had a quick coffee break at "Wild Flour" before taking the bikes down to the waterfalls. We enjoyed a really nice day in banff where the sun finally came out to warm up the evening.
