Amsterdam Light Festival

Once again, its season of long nights and lights, and what better way to share this with everyone than hosting another year the Light Festival along the canals and public spaces of Amsterdam with the help of contemporary (inter)national light artists. This year´s theme is ¨friendship¨, and the open air exhibitions can be visited during 55 days, until the 17th of Januray 2016.
Here are some impressions I was able to get a couple of days ago with my friend from Canada Elisa:

Pieces of Ireland

Luckily I was able to escape for a few days from the stressful school and work life and travel a bit, this time I decided to visit Ireland, including Northern Ireland with its capital city Belfast, where I spent the first two nights. Thanks to the easy connectivity between Ireland and the UK I was able to travel, within only two ours, from Belfast to Dublin, where I spent another three nights. One day even included a day trip the the West Coast (Cliffs of Moher). Vibrant city, definitely worth a trip back one day!

La Palma Sightseeing

Receiving the visit from a friend back home is always a good opportunity to travel the island and get her to know all the unique places that exist on La Palma... from sea to sky and from volcanoes in the south to deep forests in the north. The last two weeks were very special and were filled with unforgettable moments of fun and laughter. Thank you Alexandra for two amazing weeks!

Scotland

I finally found some time to recall the unforgettable vacation I spent with my classmate Dana in Scotland at the beginning of May. First we flew from Amsterdam to Edinburgh and stayed for three nights there. One of the days we did a bus tour through the Scottish highlands, visiting mainly Loch Ness and Glencoe, where we were able to contemplate the beautiful landscape that is also famous for being featured in movies such as 'Harry Potter' or 'James Bond Skyfall'. Later on, we took the bus to Glasgow (aprox. 1 hour from Edinburgh), where we also spent a clouple of days discovering the city, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the City Chambers.
It was a very nice week, and even though the weather changed every five minutes from wind and rain to sun, I can only recommend visiting Scotland, but mostly Edinburgh and the highlands! ...just make sure you prepare yourself for the Scottish accent, good luck understanding people in Glasgow!
