Okay so I went out and I took some pictures, once again I got impressed by the beauty of this place, it's just amazing living here: the nature, the snow, the mountains... Everything! ...it's just a shame that I got to see the sculptures that late, they were almost covered in snow! Anyways, here are a few pictures, hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Oh and by the way, the theme of this years Ice Magic competition were the Olympic Games!

Ice Magic
Today I am off, again ...I almost miss my work place ;) Anyways, it's a good opportunity to get out of my bed and enjoy some fresh (very cold) air, so I decided to go to the lake and take my camera with me. The idea was to take pictures of the ice sculptures made a couple of weeks ago because of the Ice Magic competition this January. I know it's pretty late, the last time I went out they were still making the sculptures, but it's just that I had no time: lots of work, and then I got sick (and I am still kind of sick).

Snowmobiling in Golden
Today I finally got another goal accomplished: go snowmobiling!! ...we left Lake Louise at 9.15am and went in a bus to Golden, in British Columbia, one hour drive away. Once there, we got the gear and the necessary instructions to go on a safe snowmobile tour up the mountain. We went all behind each other on trails, after a couple of hours we had lunch: BBQ and Marshmellows in the Mountain! The whole trip took us about 4-5 hours, at 3pm we left and went back to Lake Louise.

The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company
This Monday 20th of January, we had a little trip to a local beer and soda brewery in Canmore, one hour drive from Lake Louise, the Grizzly Paw Brewing Company. That trip was organized by the Hotel and we went a few people from different departments, mostly us from the deli and the rest were bartenders from other restaurants. The goal was to know better about the product we were selling, which was new for us. We did not only try honey ale or raspberry ale, we also tried different kind of sodas, like ginger beer, grapefruit, cream soda, orange cream, root beer or black cherry. The cool thing about those sodas is that they have less sugar then other pops, they are also less sparkling so pretty easy to drink.

Calgary Tower
Today was my last day in Calgary, I am actually already in Banff, staying in the Fairmont Banff Springs. I had to check out early today but shops didn't open till noon so I just tried to do the best of it, walking a little bit around. Before I left I decided to have lunch at the Calgary Tower, enjoying the view above the city, sitting on a table in a restaurant with a spinning floor, kind of got dizzy ;)

Vacation Vacation!
Finally some vacation!!! I really needed this... After ten days straight working, including seven over night shift I decided to take some time off and to go away from work, to unplug myself and relax, also with the plan to give myself an advanced birthday present. So I came to Calgary, and at this moment I am staying at the Fairmont Palliser, right now the best place on earth for me! (Staff discount is making this possible ;)
