Columbia Icefields

My Rocky Mountain experience is almost over... A few more days and I'll be taking the Greyhound back to where everything bagan nine month ago: Vancouver. These six month living and working in Lake Louise passed so fast, and it has been more than an amazing experience for me.
One of the last things I did here was a trip to the Athabasca Glacier, part of the Columbia Icefields in the Jasper National Park (heading towards north from Banff). With Discover Banff Tours I left last Friday from Lake Louise at 9:45am, after two hours and a few stops along the Icefields Parkway we arrived at the bottom of the glacier, where we transferred to a different bus which took us up. It already took us around half an hour to get there, but only because they were driving so slow. After twenty minutes on 300m thick ice (higher than the Eiffel Tower) we returned to the base area. At 5.00pm we got back to Lake Louise.
I was a little bit sad about the fact that we didn't get to see any Bears, but at least we got to see some Mountain Goats and Rams!
